The short answer

Peec AI is a daily AI search analytics platform for SEO and marketing teams. Its plans start at $95/month for 50 prompts tracked every day on 3 AI models, and the higher tiers add projects, countries, reporting and source analytics.

MentionSweep is for founders and small teams who first want to know whether ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Perplexity name them at all, who gets named instead, and what to fix, without a subscription. Start with a free score, buy a one-time $29 Full Report, and add $39/month weekly monitoring only if you want ongoing data.

If you already know you need daily tracking across several AI engines and markets, Peec AI is built for that. If you want a one-time answer and a fix list, MentionSweep costs less.

Who Peec AI suits

  • SEO and marketing teams that report every day or week. Daily tracking with visibility, position, sentiment and share of voice against competitors is the core of the product.
  • Teams that care about Google AI Overviews, AI Mode or Copilot. Peec AI offers these; MentionSweep checks none of them.
  • Brands in several markets. Its pricing page says you can track any supported country or language at no extra cost, and Advanced lists multi-country and 5 projects.
  • Teams that want deep source data. Peec AI lists source analytics, citation share, AI crawler insights, an API and an MCP server.

Who MentionSweep suits

  • Founders who want a first answer before paying monthly. The free score asks 10 buyer-style questions on ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude and shows whether you're named and who is named instead.
  • One-off audits. The $29 Full Report covers 50 questions on ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Perplexity, share of voice against up to 3 competitors, the sites AI cites in your category, and a step-by-step fix list. No account or subscription.
  • Small budgets that want to check progress. Monitor ($39/month) re-runs up to 100 questions weekly and emails what changed every Monday. Cancel anytime. Within 30 days of buying a Full Report, its $29 counts toward your first Monitor month.

When Peec AI is the better pick

Pick Peec AI if any of these are true:

  1. You need daily data, not weekly or one-off.
  2. You need Google AI Overviews, AI Mode, Microsoft Copilot or Naver AI.
  3. You track several countries, languages or projects.
  4. You report in Looker Studio, or need an API, MCP access or SSO.

MentionSweep doesn't do these, and we'd rather you pick the right tool.

How the two count "prompts"

Peec AI defines an AI answer as one chat result per model, and its Starter table works out to 4,500 AI answers a month (50 prompts × 3 models × 30 days). MentionSweep's Full Report asks 50 questions once on each of its 4 engines. Peec AI gives you the same questions tracked every day; MentionSweep gives you one broad snapshot, or a weekly re-run with Monitor. Decide which you need before comparing prices.

Other Peec AI alternatives AI assistants name

We asked "What are the best alternatives to Peec AI?" through the AI providers' APIs on Oct 19, 20 and 21, 2026, as part of our own tracking: 12 answers across 5 setups (OpenAI gpt-5-mini without and with web search, Gemini without grounding, Perplexity from Oct 20, Claude from Oct 21). These are API answers, not the ChatGPT app or a signed-in user's view, and 12 answers are far too few for percentages. What we saw:

  • 7 of the 12 answers treated Peec AI as an AI visibility tool and listed alternatives. Profound was named in all 7. Otterly.AI was named in 6. AthenaHQ came up in 4.
  • Other names that came up, among others: Scrunch AI, Writesonic, SE Ranking, Semrush, Ahrefs Brand Radar, Rankscale, Goodie AI, Evertune, Conductor, BrightEdge, WordLift and Search Atlas.
  • The OpenAI API without web search didn't recognize Peec AI on any of the three days (on Oct 19 it guessed a health chatbot, on Oct 20 it listed similarly named tools, and on Oct 21 it asked what Peec AI does). With web search it listed alternatives on Oct 19 and 21 and asked a clarifying question on Oct 20.
  • Gemini without grounding described Peec AI correctly on Oct 19 and 21, but on Oct 20 treated it as a web research tool and suggested Perplexity, Genspark and You.com.
  • None of the 12 answers named MentionSweep. We're a new tool (live since Oct 19, 2026), so this page is partly how we hope to change that.

Two of the most-named options, checked on their own pricing pages on Oct 21, 2026:

  • Otterly.AI (the AI search monitoring tool, not Otter.ai): Lite $29/month for 15 prompts tracked daily on ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and Microsoft Copilot; Standard $189/month; Premium $489/month; free trial. See our Otterly alternative page.
  • Profound: a free trial of 50 prompts run daily for 7 days on ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews, then a custom-priced Enterprise plan.

A note on accuracy

AI assistants don't give the same answer every time. A single run, from any tool, is a snapshot. MentionSweep asks the AI models through their official APIs. ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude are asked without web search, and Perplexity answers with its own web search, so results can differ from what a signed-in user sees in the ChatGPT app with search on. Treat any score as a direction, and re-check after you make changes.

FAQ

Questions, answered

How much does Peec AI cost?

On Oct 21, 2026, Peec AI's pricing page (US view) listed Starter at $95/month (50 prompts), Pro at $245/month (150 prompts) and Advanced at $495/month (350 prompts), each tracked daily on 3 models you choose, plus a custom Enterprise plan. It says annual billing saves 15%.

Is MentionSweep cheaper than Peec AI?

For a one-off check, yes: MentionSweep's Full Report is $29 once for 50 questions, and the free score costs nothing. Monitor is $39/month for up to 100 questions re-run weekly. Peec AI tracks prompts daily, which MentionSweep does not, so the two aren't the same product at different prices.

Which AI engines does each tool check?

Peec AI's Starter, Pro and Advanced plans let you choose 3 models from ChatGPT, Google AI Mode, Google AI Overviews, Microsoft Copilot, Gemini and Naver AI, with extra models (Perplexity among them) as paid add-ons and more models on Enterprise. MentionSweep's free score checks ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude; the Full Report and Monitor add Perplexity. MentionSweep doesn't check AI Overviews, AI Mode, Copilot or Naver AI.

When is Peec AI the better choice?

When you need daily tracking, Google AI Overviews, AI Mode or Copilot, several countries or projects, Looker Studio reporting, API access, or features like sentiment, source analytics and AI crawler logs. MentionSweep doesn't do those.

Do AI assistants know Peec AI?

In our small set of API checks (Oct 19 to 21, 2026), Perplexity (both days), Claude (its one day), Gemini on two of three days, and the OpenAI API with web search on the two days it gave a list described Peec AI as an AI visibility tool. The OpenAI API without web search didn't recognize it on any of the three days. That's a small sample, not a measurement of the ChatGPT app.
