On Oct 22, 2026, Profound's pricing page listed two plans for brands: a free Trial (50 prompts run daily for 7 days on ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews) and Enterprise at a custom price. For agencies it listed Agency Growth, with full client workspaces as a $399/month add-on and 5 more trial workspaces for $199/month, and a custom Agency Enterprise plan. The page showed no published monthly price for a single brand.

Is there a cheaper alternative to Profound for a small brand?

If you want a one-time answer rather than daily tracking, yes: MentionSweep's free score costs nothing and its Full Report is $29 once for 50 questions on 5 AI engines. Monitor is $39/month for up to 100 questions re-run weekly. Otterly.AI's Lite plan was $29/month for 15 prompts tracked daily on Oct 22, 2026. These are different products from Profound, not the same thing at a lower price.

Pick Profound if any of these are true:

Profound's Trial runs a recommended set of 50 prompts every day for 7 days on 3 engines, and the Trial plan can't customize prompts. It has no history, exports or API, so it's a preview before an Enterprise conversation. MentionSweep's Full Report asks 50 questions once on each of its 5 engines and keeps the result at a private link with a fix list. A week of daily data shows how answers move from day to day; one broad snapshot shows where you stand. Decide which you need before comparing.

How often AI assistants name Profound

We ask the same 8 questions through the AI providers' APIs every day as part of our own tracking. From Oct 19 to 22, 2026, 7 of those questions were about AI visibility tools (for example "What is the best AI visibility tracker?" and "What are the best alternatives to Otterly.AI?"). That gave 121 answers across 6 setups: OpenAI gpt-5-mini without and with web search, Gemini without grounding, Perplexity (from Oct 20), Claude (from Oct 21) and Grok (from Oct 22). These are API answers, not the ChatGPT app or a signed-in user's view, and the counts per setup are small. What we saw:

Profound was named in 46 of the 121 answers. It came up in 19 of 23 Gemini answers, 12 of 14 Claude answers and 12 of 21 Perplexity answers, but in only 3 of 28 OpenAI answers with web search, 0 of 28 OpenAI answers without it and 0 of 7 Grok answers.
35 of those 46 answers called Profound enterprise-focused or enterprise-grade, which matches its pricing page.
The tools most often named alongside it: Otterly.AI (in 40 of the 46), Peec AI (38), Semrush (31), Ahrefs (25) and AthenaHQ (17).
Gemini gave Profound's web address as profound.co or profound.ai in 4 answers. Its pricing page is at tryprofound.com, so check the link before you sign up.

A note on accuracy

AI assistants don't give the same answer every time. A single run, from any tool, is a snapshot. MentionSweep asks the AI models through their official APIs. ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Grok are asked without web search, and Perplexity answers with its own web search, so results can differ from what a signed-in user sees in the ChatGPT app with search on. Treat any score as a direction, and re-check after you make changes.
